Peekaboo Canyon took us from the gulch up to the plateau. The second one would take us back down to the gulch and out to our car. On the right, I come out of the top of Peekaboo canyon. |

On the left we leave the plateau for Spooky Canyon. Spooky lived up to its name. On the right you can see how narrow it is. Rebecca was first and said, "Dad will never make it through here!" This was her way of passing the blame for her fear. A few minutes later, Josiah dropped our water jug. No water, no idea how to get back, and it is 114 degrees.

Fortunately, David is an Eagle Scout and knows how to read maps! Celeste looked at the same map and concluded we were in a different place. David insisted he knew where we were and figured out a shortcut back (a cow path, really). He was right and the family was saved! |
